FEMA Advocacy:
FEMA Advocacy is almost an oxymoron. Seems that due to our government forgetting that there are actual people who are affected by their actions it has become increasingly evident that someone needs to be a “voice for the voiceless.” That’s where we come in. As most of you who ever have had dealings with FEMA know all too well. They can be a living nightmare to deal with. It seems that while they are part of our Federal Government. With a name like Federal Emergency Management Agency, they neglect to understand that they are accountable to We the People. They often make promises they hope you will forget or not have the stamina to advocate for yourself while dealing with the trauma of the disaster that you have been through. While we are NOT attorneys – and therefore DO NOT OFFER LEGAL ADVICE, we can tell you what has worked for others. We are also more than happy to contact them on your behalf as advocates.
FEMA and their philosophy:
FEMA lives by the philosophy that if they make it hard enough to get assistance from them you will just give up. Well, that is NOT right. Each and every person that is affected by disaster deserves to be treated like a human. With compassion, dignity, and even humanity. These are aspects that FEMA does NOT seem to have a grasp of. They often get people’s hopes up and then abandon them. As they have done to many of the people of Southwest Louisiana, Cameron Parish, and the community of Hackberry.
How we can help:
Through our Project parent program, we are part of a much larger organization. This organization has an “Advocacy” Program. That provides FREE advocacy in matters as they relate to “Farms, Food, Families, and Freedom.” They are also equipped to advocate for those who have had their world turned upside down by a disaster. Whether man-made or natural. They are available 24 / 7 / 365. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers who help make this happen.
They also provide FREE “Life Coach” services. If you feel like your life is out of control. An easy thing to do when you have to deal with the losses as they relate to a disaster. Or just need to bounce your thoughts and ideas of where to turn and what direction to go they are there for you.
Have you ever wished you had someone to CALL? Someone who would listen to you? A Non-judgemental listening ear? Well, that is available to you for FREE as well! We call it “Listening Ear” and it is available via phone, text, or email 24 / 7 / 365.

All information is kept confidential. We will NOT release your name or any other information to FEMA or anyone else without your express consent. In other words, you can get help and not worry about FEMA retaliating, taking their anger or frustration out on you. Even If you just want to tell your story and know that they won’t be able to take it out on you, we can help! They need to be held accountable for their actions, and dishonesty. We are here to help and protect those who are victims of not only the disaster but also the agencies that are charged to provide the needed relief.
