As a lot of you know the situation with the roofs throughout southwest Louisiana. Seems many working-class folks cannot afford the sticker shock prices that are prevalent in our society these days. So, as a result, that leaves groups like ours to come out and get er done…
But, we can’t do it alone. We need you, and you, and you, and you. Each of you. The old saying goes many hands make light work. Well, we need more of those hands. In our world, you don’t even need experience. You need a willing heart. That’s it. A mind that understands service to our fellow humans. Something that seems to be lost in many parts of our society. Especially when it comes to those struggling to make it from paycheck to paycheck. The financial repercussions of a shrinking middle class. A growing class of those challenged socioeconomically.
When you volunteer and give to others the benefits go well beyond the good feelings. You get to know your neighbors on a more personal level. And to see the great fulness in their faces that they have received the much-needed help. If you’re physically able and get involved in the manual labor part of some of these projects you also get a free workout. Thereby avoiding having to go to the gym, or other workouts for the day.
